India’s first ever Red Carpet Campus Award held at Cochin University
Ernakulam, 09/01/2015: Kerala witnessed the first ever Red Carpet Campus Award in India, The Campus Choice Cine Awards organized by Aries Vismayas Max in association with The Department of Ship Technology, CUSAT. The new generation film awards were exclusively voted, hosted and organized by the college students in Kerala as part of the Silver Jubilee celebration of the prestigious National Cultural Fiesta ANCHORAGE.
The event honored the young talents in Malayalam film industry based on their exceptional performances in the year of 2014. 7th Day grabbed the best movie of the year while Asif Ali and Parvathy Menon were adjudged as popular performers by the new generation. Abrid Shine won the best director award while Gopi Sunder bagged his award for best music direction. Joju George, Renji Panicker, Job Kurian, Sameer Thahir, Srinda Ashab, Nikki Galrani were among the few celebrities who won awards at the event.
The legends of the industry I.V Sasi and Kaviyoor Ponnamma were honored with Life Time Achievement Award for bestowing the life time contributions to the Malayalam cinema. The C – awards was grand with the gracious presence of more than 40 cinema professionals and other dignitaries. The celebrities like Sreekantan Nair, Mamas, Deepan, Sabu Colonia, Shajoon Kariyal, Sohan Seenulal, Mecartin, G.S Vijayan, M.A Nishad, Jismon, Padmakumar Govindankutty, Ranjith Sankar, Collins Leophil, Sabu Cherian were present for the event. During the event, Film Trade Magazine All Lights Film Magazine was launched by director I.V. Sasi.
Sohan Roy, former student of Department of Ship Technology and director of the much acclaimed Hollywood movie ‘DAM 999’ was the master brain behind the show. Dr. Shivaprasad, HOD Shiptech honored Sohan Roy, CEO of Aries Group of Companies as he and his classmates were the ones who organized ‘ANCHORAGE’ for the first time in the campus 25 years back. The award was organized as the 10th anniversary of Aries Campus Talent Search held in the year 2004. Renowned Script and Film Director B. Unnikrishnan was an important member of the award jury as the Managing Director of Aries Vismayas Max, the main event supporters.
The Red Carpet Show generated a vibe of entertainment making the audience experience an amazing cultural feast. The dance program and mimicry team rocked the stage with an incomparable perfection and excellence. All together the first Red Carpet Award in India marked success in the history.
